postheadericon Monaco Signature Series Motor Home Review

Article by Motor Home Specialist

When it comes to the Monaco Signature Series it is easy to see why they have the reputation for delivering luxury motor homes. There are five basic floor plans available and each with their own twists. Each model is finished to a high standard and includes plenty of luxurious, stylish and practical features right out of the garage. Most things you want will already be included, but you also have plenty of options available if you wish to make use of them.

The cockpit is where it all happens, at least from a driver’s point of view. Out of the box, it has enough gadgets to keep most drivers comfortable, safe and informed while driving. The leather pilot and co-pilot heated seats with 6-way power adjustments, adjustable armrests, electric headrests and integrated 3-point seatbelts certainly make it comfortable. The optional Bluetooth hands free link, CB radio, Sirius satellite stereo and XM satellite stereo adds another dimension.

The standard appliances and accessories compare favorably to all other competitive models with the large 17 cubic foot 4-door refrigerator with raised panel doors really standing out in the galley. A 2-burner cook top and space saving convection microwave will make it easy to cook virtually any meal. Obviously most high-end motor homes will also have basic cooking appliances, but quality is important.

Where it really stands out is when it comes to the standard entertainment appliances. The Chancellor IV model only boasts a 37 inch LCD TV mounted in the entertainment center behind the dinette area while the Buckingham IV boasts an impressive 52 inch LCD TV in the living area. All models feature a Bose sound system with DVD player and surround sound speakers. This really helps to make it an entertainment system rather than just a TV.

Additional entertainment features in the Monaco Signature Series include an electric TV antenna as well as a KVH R5 in-motion digital satellite system. The actual receivers are not included, but the ability to hook them up helps to set this motor home above many others. There is also the monitor in the bedroom for exterior security cameras as well as a more modest 32 inch LCD TV. There are also other options available instead of the standard features or in some cases in addition to the standard features. Overall, it is going to be very hard not to keep everyone entertained on a trip.

It occurred to me that I could utilize both lanes of a single track with the use of turnoffs. By turning from inside lane to outside lane I have made 1 lap out of 2 lanes. 64 sections of track with 3 hill tracks and 2 turnoffs, and a few non standard turns and straights. 1 of the hills, or Bridge tracks had not been used in years and is actually warped and broken, not to mention rusty. I cleaned it up and used black electrical tape to fill in the missing section. So here it is. It takes about 35 seconds to do 1 lap. I had a slow car, go as slow as it would go for film reasons. A Yellow Lola.
