postheadericon Different Types of Equipment for Large Gardens

Article by Samuel Keuning

Everyone loves to have a beautiful garden, but the sad truth is that it isn’t that easy a task to maintain a garden. You will require a certain extent of dedication and experience in addition to some basic gardening skills. While it is true that our hands are the best tools but sometimes we need some other equipments too in order to maintain a garden and to keep it in top condition. There is a variety of garden equipment which forms the arsenal of any gardener and these can be broadly classified into four different categories namely hand tools, watering equipment, power tools and soil monitoring equipment. Each category has its own purpose and while some are essential during the planting and growing process others are mandatory in later stages when maintenance is the main concern. The most common and basic tool that you will need in order to begin gardening is a garden fork and a spade as these are used for loosening up the soil and also for digging. Spades can be used for lifting and flipping over the sand, removing weeds, dirt and stones in addition to loosening the soil. If you have large lumps of soil then use a garden fork to crumble it. If your garden is too large then using a garden fork won’t do and you will need a motorized rotary tiller which comes with rotating blades.Whether big or small, a lawn mower is a must in every garden and there are many different types to choose from like gas-powered, electricity driven, bagging and so on. Lawn mowers are the best for the overgrown grass in the garden and a recommendation in this regard is to invest in a cordless mower for a small garden, an electrical mower for a large garden and a bagging mower in case of excessive green waste. You will also need a tiller if you happen to have a large garden and this is very useful if you need to dig flower beds or for the purpose of preparing the soil. There are a lot of different options to choose from when you are buying tillers and if efficiency is what you are looking for then gas operated tillers would be just right but these are high on maintenance. For low maintenance tillers opt for electric models. If you want your garden to look neat and shapely round the clock then pruning and cutting of the plants is compulsory. You can perform this task with the help of hedge trimmers, weeders, loppers and shears. You can use loppers for getting rid of small branches and twigs and for larger and thicker branches, use pruning shears or secateurs to combat them. Hori-hori or weeding knife is also quite efficient but if you are looking for something more convenient then it would be a good idea to purchase a hedge trimmer with motorized blades. Don’t you just hate if when leaves fallen off from trees strew your garden? Well there is a solution for this, in fact two solutions namely lawn sweeper and leaf blower. These are motorized equipments which do the job in a very short period of time as opposed to using manual tools to clean up your garden. These two make a good team because the leaf blower would be blowing the grass cuttings and fallen leaves in a certain direction while the lawn sweeper would collect and gather them in one place for easy disposal. When everything is planted you will need to remember to water the garden once a day. This can be done a number of different ways. You will need a garden hose and can attach a sprayer or a sprinkler to the end of it. It is important that you have a timer that you set when you are watering so you do not flood the garden. Some species that are planted will need to have a certain amount of PH and NPK in the soil. These levels can be checked with a special thermometer.

postheadericon An Overview Of Hydraulic Motors, Equipment, And Repair

Article by Christine O’Kelly

Any type of mechanical device that uses fluids to move or power something will contain hydraulic motors. They can be found in everything from a simple lifts system to heavy-duty equipment and wind turbines. Not only does this advancement make moving things easier, but the versatility of this system also makes it ideal for a large number of applications.

What Are Hydraulics?

This system uses fluid to cause something to charge, swing, swivel, turn, or otherwise move in some manner. In order to do this, the liquid travels through hydraulic motors, cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses, and tubes to condense the molecules and create the pressure that powers equipment. The pressure forces the cylinder on the other side to move, powering whatever it is connected to.

Hydraulic Pump

This portion of the power system is responsible for moving the fluid along the lines. It collects its power from an engine of some type. Then, it uses various couplers to transfer that power to the rest of the system. While this doesn’t sound that strong, this part has ten times the power of its electric equivalent. That’s what makes hydraulic pump repair so important; without it, the entire system will be at a standstill.

Hydraulic pump repair and systems can involve four main styles. An axial piston type has the ability to vary the amount of automatic pressure control. A radial piston type is best for small applications that require extreme pressure. Two simpler forms of hydraulic pump repair and parts exist as well. This includes a vane style that needs the fluid to flow faster, but doesn’t necessarily require a high pressure. The gear style has low pressure, low output, and generally lower efficiency.

Valves

Another important segment of hydraulic motors and systems includes control valves. Because of the wear and the precision required, it is also one of the most expensive and frequent hydraulic pump repair experts have to make. Many different styles and types exist. To transfer the fluid to the correct actuator, directional styles are used. Sequence valves ensure the fluid runs in the proper order, similar to shuttle valves, which are for function. To keep the amount of pressure under control for safety and efficiency, pressure reducing and pressure relief valves are found in this equipment. Also included for safety reasons, various types of check valves can be found on hydraulic motors and systems.

Hydraulic Motors

These differ from pumps and other similar systems in that it works with pressure on both sides of the part rather than just one. In all, there are three main styles. The most simplistic of these is a gear and vane style that is used only in small situations. Axial plunger models are used when the system requires a rotating drive at low speeds. The piston style axial plunger motor is the most common style used in this form of power system. To move large amounts of fluid at slow speeds, radial plunger motors are put into place.

Simply by compressing and moving fluid, you can power any number of different systems and parts. This also makes quality hydraulic pump repair and efficiency so important — without this seemingly insignificant power source, the equipment you are working with becomes useless.
